Office Visits

Your first visit to our office involves a few special steps so we can get to know you. To understand what to expect, please read through this page. You’ll find all the practical information you need, such as a map and directions to our office, practice hours, payment policies, and more. There’s also background information about our committed doctors and staff, as well as our first visit procedures.

Mission Statement

“We strive to provide and maintain the lifelong well-being of our dental patients through education and treatment in a safe, relaxed, and trusting environment in which patients can decide on their path to health.

“We will work within our community to assist other professionals with the diverse needs of their patients while supporting the development of ourselves and other professionals by pursuing and providing dental education.”

To fulfill this mission, we are committed to:

  • Listen to those we are privileged to serve
  • Earn the trust and respect of patients, profession, and community
  • Exceed your expectations
  • Ensure a creative, challenging, and compassionate professional environment
  • Strive for continuous improvement at all levels

Patient Forms

We believe in getting your information personally while you find out more about us, so we do not have forms for you to complete by yourself, nor will we give you a clipboard to start your appointments.

It is most helpful if you bring a written list of any medications you take to each appointment, so dosages and spellings are correct. Names and contact information of other medical professionals in writing are also very helpful.

What To Expect

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that Dr. Albert has all the necessary information to provide the best possible care. It also will help to relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling.

Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a “Dental Home” for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.  We encourage you that you maintain a great relationship with the Dental Home who referred you to our office.

You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. If old enough, your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions. The less to-do concerning the visit, the better.

It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as “needle,” “shot,” “pull,” “drill,” or “hurt.” The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and non-frightening to the child.

We insist you to stay with your child during the initial examination and during office treatment. We want your child to feel safe and you to see that the visit is going smoothly.. Our purpose is to gain your child's confidence and overcome apprehension.  For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult.

Scheduling Appointments

Our office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience.  Children are best seen for office treatment in the morning while fresh, rather than after a busy day.  Dental appointments are an excused absence, and missing school can be minimal when regular dental care is maintained.

Since appointed times are reserved for each patient, we ask that you please notify our office at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time if you must reschedule. Another patient could be scheduled if we have sufficient time to notify them. We realize that unexpected things happen, but we ask for your assistance in this regard.
